Default New kitten-with LK just skip litterbox all together?

I'm getting a 12 week old kitten at the beginning of May, and we have just received our Litter Kwitter.
We are planning on using the LK as his official litter box (so we can start the training right away) but now I'm wondering if instead of keeping the LK on the floor and then moving it to the toilet, if I should just start it on the toilet to begin with? Maybe with a step stool so he can get up there.

Anyone else do this? It just seems like I could skip the floor step since he won't be used to any certain way of anything when he comes home to us.

What do you think/What have you experienced?
