My cat, Steve, was wonderful through the red stage, but when the amber came along he refused to use it. I moved back to the red stage then used the cardboard method to gradually advance him back to amber. We did this slowly over 2 months. Yesterday was the day for the amber stage. He seems to have no issues with urinating, but I woke up to find that while he had started to poo using the LK, he had finished on the floor. Any advice on how to make him more comfortable pooing at amber?

Maybe he has been holding it in and now feel constipated? Try to give him something like olive oil, pumpkin or maybe change his food to make his poo more soft...We changed to Royal canin intense hairball and it helped a great deal...Try to keep a schedual of when he use the toilet so you know when it's time and try to be there to prevent accidents until he is confident again...
