Leno is such a riot! The last couple of days hanging out with him have been so much fun – my sides hurt from laughing so much. His car collection is amazing, and each one has so much potential for lounging on the warm hood after the engine has been running. One of these days, I’ll have to get myself a classic car or two.
Los Angeles is all abuzz for the Oscars this weekend. I’m all set with my tuxedo, and I’ll be walking the red carpet looking mighty sharp. No famous date this year (Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry both made other plans) but that’s okay. Flying solo makes it easier to surround myself with Hollywood beauties who will fully appreciate how amazing I am.

It’s late evening right now. I stayed out all night celebrating at post-show parties so didn’t get to sleep until nearly noon. I’m exhausted, but it was worth it. I convinced George Clooney to donate his presenter’s gift bag to charity (he’s such a great guy) and I got to dance with Dolly Parton, among others. She is so sweet, and she loved my idea of rewriting “I Will Always Love You” to be “I Will Always Meow”. I’m hoping to get a bunch of people to record it as a charity single, with all of the money going to animal shelters and cat rescue organizations.

Happy birthday, Sharon Stone! She is one of my all-time favorite hotties, and someone who appreciates my extraordinary talent. I can hardly wait for her new movie that comes out later in the month. She has such a purrfect face and a great sense of humor; we have a great time whenever we’re together.
Another buddy of mine – Chuck Norris - is celebrating a birthday today, too. Have you heard about how his celebrity status has turned him into an internet phenomenon? I love the parody sites that list totally outlandish Chuck Norris facts. He’s being a good sport about the whole thing, which doesn’t surprise me a bit because he is such a great guy. I’m so glad I taught him the basics of martial arts so that he could go on to enjoy such well-deserved success.

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE!!!! I’m so excited, I absolutely love the NCAA Basketball Tournament. I’m headed to Oakland tomorrow to watch Gonzaga play Xavier, which should be a fun time. I must admit, I always cheer for Gonzaga – despite their choice of “Bulldogs” as a mascot. Why couldn’t they have just a bit better taste and be the “Fantastic Felines” or maybe even the “Dynamic Doogies”?
I wish I could make it to more games in the Oakland Bracket, but I need to get to New York for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I’m the star of the ASPCA entry so I don’t want to disappoint my fans or the shelter animals that look to me as a role model.
Friday, March 17th
Erin Go Bragh and all of that stuff – I’m feeling very Irish today. My special Irish green collar is fitted and polished so I’ll look extra sharp and I’m looking forward to sipping one or two green beers later this evening. I can hear the bagpipers warming up all around, and each clan is busy getting ready to march. I love all of the colors, the sounds, and the people – especially when they see me and insist on telling me how much they respect, admire and love me.
Speaking of which, Senator Clinton stopped by a bit ago. We first got to know each other during the White House years because Socks and I were quite close. Of course I tried to get some “inside scoop” from her on whether she’ll actually run for President in 2008, but of course she wouldn’t answer me directly. She said Chelsea is doing well, though, which I’m pleased to hear – what a lovely young lady, and a cat lover, too.
Thursday, March 23rd
Boy, am I glad I got out of New York when I did -- I see in the news today that a coyote was captured in Central Park. Yikes! I went for a couple of walks there while I was in town, even dismissing my usual coterie of security and personal assistants to have some private time. I shudder to think of what might have happened if that coyote had seen me alone and unprotected. Sometimes mortality hits us all right in the face, I guess.
I’m all set to watch more NCAA Tournament action tonight and tomorrow night. Got my big screen plasma HDTV, got my bracket sheet in hand, and a few close friends are coming over to watch with me. Unfortunately, Keira Knightley had to cancel at the last minute, something to do with the movie she’s currently shooting. Oh well, at least Jodi Foster and Denzel Washington are still coming.
